I also tried the lts kernel with the lts Nvidia which results in the same problem. It did update after that but nothing changed. I did try to run update after I accessed the terminal using tty (after using nomodeset, i915.modeset=0, nouveau.modeset=0 parameters in the "e" menu) and I had to remove betterlockscreen and one other thing because of conflicts. I could also boot those with open source drivers on a live USB. I already successfuly installed arch, manjaro, archlabs, endeavourOS and some others with no issues. I have windows on a different SSD, the SSD I am trying to install on is empty. My installation is just the Intel ucode and Nvidia drivers and xcfe and sddm. I also cannot boot the live usb with the option open source drivers, only with the Nvidia drivers. After removing quiet from the parameters I can also see that it gets stuck after " reached target graphical interface". I can access tty if I add the nomodeset parameters. Nothing is on the screen and tty is inaccessible. Whenever I try to install (used 3 different isos until now) i get stuck on a completely black screen on the first boot after the line about starting linux. ![]() ↳ Installation of Software (pacman, AUR.↳ Installation issues of ArcoLinuxB iso.↳ Installation issues of ArcoLinuxD iso.↳ Installation issues of ALL ArcoLinux iso's.Something just has to work out of the box on your hardware. There is EndeavourOS, Garuda and so many more. There is Ariser you can try and change it into ArcoLinux. There is Arch Linux you can try and change it into ArcoLinux. There was a page on Gentoo wiki who had a nice list of all the possible additions Often people use things like NOAPIC or NOACPI and then they boot People can boot because they add parameters behind the grub lines - here is the link to know what you can add or remove Many people with older hardware have to type something to be able to boot. You can check what the content was of our boot lines in the past and change the ones we have now on the fly and see if that helps. ![]() You only need knowledge at that point - it is far from ideal - once installed you keep rolling anyway Keep using the old isos and update - I did that once with a 3 year old iso - all possible My new setting is: AMD Ryzen 5 3600, MSI B550-A, AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT In contrast, when I use the live-USB stick on my Laptop I do get a very colorful "ArcoLinux-screen" and eventually it loads into the system. At last I want to mention, in step 2 (above) in the "ArcoLinux-screen" I don't get the ArcoLinux symbol. I get the feeling the problem is the graphics driver. On my old computer I was able to install any Linux distro as I pleased. I ran into the exact same problem when trying Manjaro. The problem is that a lot of solutions I’ve found on the internet work if an Arch distribution is already installed, but I’m stuck within the installation process. ![]() I am able to enter TTY and tried to disable the graphics drivers, but nothing so far has worked for me. “ Reached target Graphical Interface”Īnd then nothing works anymore. … it works perfectly fine until it reaches Booted from this device and got to the “ArcoLinux-screen” where I can choose language, etc… I am still a newbie and hope I used the correct terms to describe my problem. I build a new Computer yesterday, wanted to install ArcoLinux for the first time (before that I used Manjaro) and ran into a problem: I can’t install from the bootable device. ![]()
